Tina Kexin Weng (b. 2000, Shanghai, China) is a London-based painter. Weng’s paintings examine the relationship between intimacy, memory, and interior space. Often working from fragments of lived experience, she transforms images of domestic rooms, skin, fabric, pearls, and bodily details into quiet psychological environments. Her work considers how the body might function as an interior: a place of sensation, vulnerability, concealment, and self-possession.
Through intimate scale, close cropping, and a restrained naturalistic palette, Weng creates paintings that resist complete narrative resolution. Her images invite proximity while maintaining a private distance, allowing moments of touch, desire, solitude, and emotional residue to remain suspended within the surface of the work.
